Mission Windows The thick adobe walls of the Missions lent themselves to ornamental openings and windows, often located above entry doors in the Spanish architectural tradition. Distinctive round windows are found at the Santa Barbara and San Luis Rey Missions. The Carmel Mission is the site of the intricate star window, a smaller version of which appears in San Rafael. |
